Being Married

I was recently married to my best friend in July. His name is Shaheen and he means the world to me. We met at our home church back in junior high and 10 years later we finally get married at the church where it all started. We have been married for 4 months now and it has been amazing. I have learned so many things about being married in such a short time. We have had friends tell us before getting married to hang in there for the first year because its the roughest. If our first year is the roughest, well, we have it made. We get along really good because we know how important communication is. We talk and talk and talk just like best friends would do. We keep each other company and the best part about it is, its free! There has been countless days where I lay at one end of the couch and he lays at the other end and we talk for hours at a time. The key to making a relationship work is communication and not holding grudges. You have to realize the other is not perfect and neither are you. You have to forgive and not hold grudges...because where do grudges get you??? Nowhere. Right now we live in Denton but we will be moving back home this summer if all goes well. Probablly in the Arlington area. We are excited!

Hey Shannon, welcome to blog land! Glad to have ya!

Here are some tips if you'd like them:

1. To increase your blog traffic go to www.blogexplosion.com (termed B.E.)and sign up. Surf other people's blogs and other people, in-turn, come to your blog. They are, of course, strangers so you would have to not mind strangers reading your blog. When I really want something to be put out there, or to get opinions on something, I surf B.E. Usually it brings about 60 readers in a day to my site.

2. In the side colums of your blog you can put links to other people's blogs (or other sites of interest). If you don't know how to do this just let me know and I'll give you the HTML code format to use (it's quite easy).

3. There are all kinds of fun little things you can do to your blog to jazz it up -- this includes free polls (www.pollhost.com), Flickr.com for pictures, and Weatherpixie.com

4. The more you update your blog, the more readers you will have.

Anyways, I like your first post! You rock, buuuuuddy!

Take care!
